HERO MOTOCORP LAUNCHES UNIQUE WELFARE PACKAGE FOR COVID-19 AFFECTED FAMILIES

Haridwar : A day after handing over 13 ambulances to the state government of Uttarakhand to strengthen the health infrastructure in the state, Hero MotoCorp Ltd – the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters – further strengthened its partnership with the state by launching a unique support program for 60 Covid-19 affected families today.

Keeping up its relentless efforts towards supporting COVID-19 relief measures, Hero MotoCorp – under it’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform “Hero WeCare – announced a slew of welfare measures to support children who lost one or both of their parents or guardians and women who lost their spouses to Covid-19 in the district of Haridwar.

Launching the program, Shri Beer Singh Budhiyal, Additional District Magistrate – Haridwar – said, “We are immensely thankful to Hero MotoCorp for once again taking the lead in supporting our efforts towards providing extraordinary community services in the state of Uttarakhand. Through our collaborative efforts, and the commitment of corporates like Hero MotoCorp, we have been able to overcome the challenges posed by Covid-19 pandemic.  These kinds of initiatives not only make our mission stronger to bring the affected people back on their feet; it also prepares us to respond effectively to any upcoming challenges.”

Mr. Bharatendu Kabi, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Corporate Communication, Hero MotoCorp said, “We are commencing a Skill Development Program aimed at empowering 50 such women to make them employable and self-reliant in the long-term. This initiative will help them get the required training and develop their entrepreneurial skills to attain a better livelihood, thus contributing towards the sustainable development of communities. We will also provide a monthly allowance towards the educational and nutritional requirements of 10 children in the district of Haridwar, who lost their parents or guardians to the Coronavirus pandemic.”

In keeping with its commitment towards supporting the COVID-19 relief efforts, Hero MotoCorp handed over 13 life-support ambulances to the Government of Uttarakhand on Thursday.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off these these ambulances, which will not only help communities during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic; these will also go a long way in providing the much-needed infrastructural support at the time of any future health-related emergencies.

HERO MOTOCORP’S COVID-19 RELIEF EFFORTS IN UTTARAKHAND –

  • Hero MotoCorp handed over 13 life-support ambulances to the Government of Uttarakhand
  • Donated eight specially designed First Responder Vehicles (FRVs)
  • In Haridwar, the company also partnered with Ramakrishna Mission Sevashrama to strengthen their healthcare system with 122 bed COVID-19 hospital
  • Has launched a project under which 10,000 doses of vaccines will be administered in
  • a phased manner to the people in Haridwar
  • As part of another similar vaccination drive, Hero MotoCorp is partnering with the local health department to facilitate vaccination for specially-abled people in the district
  • Provided its motorcycles and scooters for safe, personal commuting by health workers and medical staff.
