India’s Best Dancer finalist, contestant Subhranil Paul realizes his dream of performing with singer Vishal Dadlani this weekend
As the show India’s Best Dancer is inching closer to the finale, the competition seems to be at its peak with the contestants giving their best to win the prestigious title. Ranked as the most popular dance show, this weekend India’s Best Dancer (IBD) will extend a warm welcome to the judges of Indian Idol 12 – Vishal Dadlani, Himmesh Reshammiya and host Aditya Narayan, as they will witness power-packed acts by the contestants. The show will also get its top 5 finalists this weekend. Tiger Pop Mukul Gain, and Subhranil Paul have already secured their position as the top three finalists… who will be next to join the ranks?
Contestant Subhranil Paul from Siliguri with his choreographer Pankaj Thapa performed on the song Main Jahan Rahoon and encapsulated his IBD journey through the act. Looking at his beautiful performance, the judges got nostalgic and reminisced of the memorable moments created on the show. A teary eyed Malaika said, “I remember I had put the badge on you when you were selected for the show. Within two minutes of your act, you showcased the highs and lows and took us through the journey of the show. Subhranil, you are the only contestant who has bagged perfect scores back to back. The way you depicted this concept, it’s beautiful. Subhranil, you are very special.”
Himesh Reshammiya, who has sung the song Main Jahan Rahoon, said, “I have seen many performances on this song, and I have also performed on this song myself. We have received a lot of appreciation. But, Subhranil I want to tell you that you are a true artist and you have a lot of respect for your craft. You have taken this song of mine and made it timeless through your act. You are emotionally connected to your act. You don’t need gimmicks and props; you are a pure dancer. You can hold the camera, and it is sign of a true superstar.”
Bharti further revealed that Subhranil is a fan of Vishal Dadlani. Subhranil said, “I am a dancer, assistant choreographer but I am also a composer. In fact, I started my journey with Indian Idol 10, where I choreographed one of Vishal sir’s act. You had sung Dil Diyan Gallan during the finale. It was my wish back then to sing this song with you on stage. It was a dream. You have been an inspiration.”
Vishal Dadlani fulfilled his wish and joined Subhranil Paul on stage to sing Dil Diyan Gallan with him. Everyone was mesmerised with their soulful rendition.
