एनसीपीए-सिटी तेजस विंचुरकर (बांसुरी) और श्रुति पाध्ये-कुलकर्णी (खयाल) के साथ प्रॉमिसिंग आर्टिस्ट सीरीज की मेजबानी करेगा

Mumbai : NCPA in association with Citi India presents Tejas Vinchurkar (Flute) & Shruti Padhye-Kulkarni (Khayal) under the NCPA – CITI Promising Artistes Series 2021-22. Tejas and Shruti are the recipients of NCPA-Citi Scholarship in Classical Music for the year 2016-17 & 2010-11 respectively.

Tejas Vinchurkar started learning the tabla from his father, Pradeep Vinchurkar, at the age of three and later developed an inclination towards the flute. He was initially tutored by the late Ravi Garud and presently, he is a disciple of Abhay Phagre. He was awarded the gold medal on behalf of the President of India in 2010 for standing first in A.I.R. competition. He has played for television shows like Indian IdolSa Re Ga Ma Pa and has performed with Sonu Nigam, Hariharan, Talat Aziz, Pankaj Udhas, Kailash Kher and others. He has also played for songs in more than 50 Bollywood movies.

Shruti Padhye-Kulkarni has been learning classical vocal music from Pradeep Natekar for the last 20 years and semi classical music from Dhanashri Pandit-Rai. She achieved Sangeet Alankar with distinction and M.A. (Music) with gold medal in 2011. She is a ‘B-High’ grade artiste of All India Radio. She has also received Government of India scholarship in Classical Vocal Music for 2011-2013. She has several performances to her credit and has won many prizes from cultural organisations.

With a mission to encourage the young talent, National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in association with CITI India announced the Promising Artistes Series 2021-22, that provides a platform to the recipients of ‘Citi-NCPA Scholarship for Young Musicians’ and Shishyas under ‘Citi-NCPA Support to Gurus’ program. These programs are in the field of Hindustani vocal (dhrupad and khayal) and instrumental music (melody and percussion instruments) which encourage the upcoming and current generation to practice music in its most natural form.
